'Like An Angel Passing Through My Room'

'Like An Angel Passing Through My Room' - Madonna

Long awaited darkness falls
Casting shadows on the walls
In the twilight hour I am alone
Sitting near the fireplace, dying embers warm my face
In this peaceful solitude
All the outside world subdued
Everything comes back to me again
In the gloom
Like an angel passing through my room
Half awake and half in dreams
Seeing long forgotten scenes
So the present runs into the past
Now and then become entwined, playing games within my mind
Like the embers as they die
Love was one prolonged good-bye
And it all comes back to me tonight
In the gloom
Like an angel passing through my room
I close my eyes
And my twilight images go by
All too soon
Like an angel passing through my room

'Sunshine'

Hiya Love,
Eee, I've been so busy to find time to chat to you but I do hope that you've enjoyed the songs that Wayne has asked me to find for you. This next one is called 'Sunshine'...What's that? Ha!
I jest of course but we've hardly had any sunshine round here for ages. We seem to have had monsoon after monsoon. Still no hose-pipe ban so every cloud......right, I'll pop off, it's very late or early, I suppose but I'll make an ovaltine and slip back into bed. Hope you like it, but it's beyond me. I even consulted Noel Coward but he couldn't make neither head nor tale of it either.
Bye Love,
Edna x

'Sunshine' - Keane

I hold you in my hands
A little animal
And only some dumb idiot
Would let you go
But if I'm one thing
Then that's the one thing
I should know
Can anybody find their home
Out of everyone
Can anybody find their home
I hold you in cupped hands
And shield you from a storm
Where only some dumb idiot
Would let you go
But if I'm one thing
Then that's the one thing
I should know
Can anybody find their home
Out of everyone
Can anybody find their home
Lost in the sun
Can anybody find their home
Come on, come on, come on
Can anybody find their home
Oh oh-oh-oh-oh
Can anybody find their home
Out of everyone
Can anybody find their home
Lost in the sun
Can anybody find their home
Come on, come on, come on
Can anybody find their home
Oooooh
Can anybody find their home

'This Old Love'

'This Old Love' - Lior

Yes, yeah we're movin' on
Looking for direction
Mmm mm we've covered much ground
Thinking back to innocence
I can no longer connect
I don' t have a heart left to throw around
Oh, and time moves on like a train
That disappears into the night sky
Yeah, I still get a sad feeling inside to see the red tail lights wave goodbye
We'll grow old together
We'll grow old together
And this love will never
This old love will never die
Well money slips into your hands
And then slips out like it was sand
And those shoes that you could never seem to fill
I've chased so much and lost my way
Maybe a face for every day
That so casually slipped me by
Oh, time moves on like a train
That disappears into the night sky
Yeah, I still get that sad feelin' inside to see the red tail lights wave goodbye
We'll grow old together
We'll grow old together
And this love will never
This old love will never die
Morning comes
Sometimes with a smile
Sometimes with a frown
Yeah so I never want to worry
If you're gonna stay around
So let's grow old together
Baby you and I will
We'll grow old together yea
And this love will never
This old love will never die
Yes, yeah we're movin' on
Movin' right along

'When He Loved Me'

'When He Loved Me' - Sarah McLachlan

When somebody loved me, everything was beautiful
Every hour we spent together, lives within my heart
And when he was sad, I was there to dry his tears
And when he was happy, so was I, when he loved me.
Through the summer and the fall, we had each other, that was all
Just he and I together, like it was meant to be
And when he was lonely, I was there to comfort him
And I knew that he loved me.
So the years went by, I stayed the same
And he began to drift away, I was left alone
Still I waited for the day, when he’d say "I will always love you."
Lonely and forgotten, never thought he’d look my way,
He smiled at me and held me, just like he used to do,
Like he loved me, when he loved me

When somebody loved me, everything was beautiful,
Every hour we spent together, lives within my heart
When he loved me.

'Ae Fond Kiss'

Hello Love,
Eeee, I've been right busy, got a new hairdo and exorcised the neighbours cat after it became possessed by Genghis Khan.
Wayne has been enjoying himself catching up on some classic films with Orson Wells. He wishes they'd had films when he were alive because in his words, he has 'always had a penchant for lesbians'....I think it were lesbians. Not a big fan myself, though I always cheered on Billy Jean King. Anyway here is 'Ae Fond Kiss' by Robbie Burns, funny looks like a woman. Isn't it shocking how people mess with their hormones these days!

Ae fond kiss and then we sever;
Ae fareweel, and then for ever!
Deep in heart-wrung tears I'll pledge thee,
Warring sighs and groans I'll wage thee.
Who shall say that Fortune grieves him,
While the star of hope she leaves him?
Me, nae cheerful twinkle lights me;
Dark despair around benights me.
I'll ne'er blame my partial fancy,
Naething could resist my Nancy:
But to see her was to love her;
Love but her, and love for ever.
Had we never lov'd sae kindly,
Had we never lov'd sae blindly,
Never met - or never parted,
We had ne'er been broken-hearted.
Fare-thee-weel, though first and fairest!
Fare-thee-weel, though best and dearest!
Thine be ilka joy and treasure,
Peace, Enjoyment, Love and Pleasure!
Ae fond kiss, and then we sever!
Ae fareweel, alas, for ever!
Deep in heart-wrung tears I'll pledge thee,
Warring sighs and groans I'll wage thee.

'All I Know'

'All I Know' - Five For Fighting

I bruise you
You bruise me
We both bruise too easily
Too easily, to let it show
I love you and that's all I know.
All my plans
Are falling through
All my plans depend on you
Depend on you, to help them grow
I love you and that's all I know.
When the singer's gone, let the song go on.
But the ending always comes at last
Endings always come too fast
They come too fast
But they pass too slow
I love you and that's all I know.
When the singer's gone, let the song go on
It's a fine line between the darkness and the dawn
They say in the darkest night, there's a light beyond.
But the ending always comes at last
Endings always come too fast
They come too fast
But they pass too slow
I love you and that's all I know
That's all I know
That's all I know-oh...oh-oh.
